Rich Mountain Road

Inspired by a historic carriage trail near Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, “Rich Mountain Road” is an original, handmade block print created using high-quality and archival materials.

Mango leaf paper was applied to create the ground texture in the lower portion of the print. Due to the leaf variation in the paper, each print is completely unique. The background layer was created from a woodblock with the delicate woodgrain imitating a hazy sky. The third and final layer was printed using a carefully hand-carved linoleum block.
